Canon PIXMA MP496 printer model is also a multifunction printer that can print, copy, and scan documents. In this way, the scanning component has TWAIN/WIA driver compatibility. These elements work well with the Microsoft Windows Vista and Windows XP only. Whereas, the maximum scanning size for A4 and letter-sized papers are 8.5 x 11.7 inches or 216 x 297mm. Also, its optical resolution for horizontal and vertical directions is 1200 x 2400 dpi.
However, it has an interpolated resolution of 19200 x 19200 dpi at the maximum level. Concerning the gradation level, the color depth is about 48-bit/24-bit for the RGB color selection. But for grayscale printing, the intensity is 16-bit/8-bit. There is a multicopy feature when copying documents that can produce up to 99 copies from a single original material. Whereas, there is also an intensity adjustment for auto intensity. It also has a fit-to-page and preset ratio feature.
The external dimensions of the machine include a width of 450 mm and a depth of 335 mm. It also has a height of 155 mm while the weight is up to 5.5 kg, which is about 12lbs. This weight is correspondent to the presence of installed FINE cartridges for a perfect delivery. At the same time, the compatible ink cartridges comprise 320 nozzles for black printing. Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
