The Brother HL-2700CN printer has a running principle of the electrophotographic laser print technology with four different cycles. This process produces a standard print speed for monochrome up to 31 pages per minute (ppm) while the full color is at 8 ppm. Similarly, the duplex printing for monochrome prints at speed up to 15.5 sheets per minute while full-color prints at the rate of 4 sheets per minute.

The print resolution is excellent with CAPT at 2400 dots per inch (dpi) while without the enhancer, the resolution on the average is 600 x 600 dpi. The standard resolution however with the CAPT is about 1200 dpi, and the typical resolution is 600 dpi. The inbuilt processor of this device is the TX4955 with a speed of 300 MHz as well as an internal memory capacity of 64 MB of RAM. There is however an option of a DIMM 144pin slot for expandable memory of up to 576 MB.
The connectivity interface for the device is the 10/100 BaseTX Ethernet for an auto-negotiation while the network protocols include TCP/IP NetWare IPX/SPX and Apple NetBEUI. The management tools include Web BRAdmin, BRAdmin Professional and Web-Based Management. The printer also permits an optional extra storage device, which is the compact flash memory. The print language emulation includes PCL6, PCL5C, BR-Script 3 and IBM Pro-Printer XL.
The resident fonts for the PCL language include 66 scalable fonts, 12 bitmap fonts, and 13 barcodes compatibilities. Also, the BR-Script alone supports 35 different fonts with options of Agfa PS3 fonts and Barcode Fonts. The control panel of the printer includes both liquid crystal display (LCD) and two light emitting diodes (LEDs) each for alarm and status indication. [Installation Instructions] How to Download / Installation procedure
Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
