The physical dimensions of the printer include 12.5 x 19.7 x 25.5 inches (HWD) and a weight of 28.6 lbs (with duplexer). However, if the second tray is in place, the weight becomes 33.6 lbs. The machine has the ability not only to print but also to copy, scan and send or receive fax messages.

Printing Specifications

The black resolution is up to 1200 dpi with pigmented black ink. However, the color resolution is up to 4800 x 1200 dpi with Vivera inks for HP enhanced photo quality. This quality is possible on HP Premium Plus photo papers with 1200 x 1200 input dpi. The print method uses print-on-demand thermal inkjet printing technology on HP PCL3 enhanced.

The print speed depends on the printing mode. For instance, the Draft mode is at the rate of up to 35 ppm and 34 ppm for colored. The monthly duty cycle of this printing device is 15000 pages per month. The recommended capacity, however, will be lesser than this.

Copying Specifications

The copy function works with the Digital Image processing for up to 99 copies from the original. The digital zoom range is from 25% to 400% coupled with the ability to fit the page and show a copy preview. These features, however, varies by the exact model of the printer in use.

The copy speed also varies with the model of the printer in use. For instance, the copy speed is up to 0.85 ppm for black and 0.75 ppm for colored at Best mode. Whereas, at the fast method, the black print is at the rate of 20 ppm and 13 ppm for colored.

Scanning Specifications

The scanning mode of the printer works on the Integrated OCR software. This feature converts scanned text to editable text. The speed, however, varies with the complexity of the document with TWAIN interface (Windows only). The scanning resolution is 1200 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi) with 24-bit color depth and 8-bit grayscale.

Faxing Specifications

This feature works with a Walk-Up black and white or color fax compatibility for up to 99-speed dials. The fax function can keep up to 120 pages in its memory based on ITU-T Test Image #1 at standard resolution. These features depend on the model of the printer in use. Note also that complicated pages or higher resolutions take longer time and uses more memory. There is the manual fax send and receive function with automatic busy redial up to five times.

Limitation

This printer has not Near Field Communication (NFC)

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer

Windows

• Close all software programs running on your computer.
• Turn on the printer.
• Click the Download button on this page.
• Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
• Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.

Mac

• Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
• Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
• Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
• Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.

To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
