Brother HL-3045CN printer model has an electrophotographic light emitting diode (LED) print technology with a single pass. The printer buildup also allows it to print in black and white at speed up to 18 pages per minute (ppm) on an A4 size paper. The speed can be up to 19 ppm on a letter size paper. On the other hand, printing in full color works at the same rate for both A4 and letter-sized documents of standard weight and other dimensions.

The first-time printing in monochrome is less than 15 seconds while in color is less than 16 seconds. The print resolution is a factor of the operating systems such as Windows, DOS, Mac, and Linux. For Windows XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, and 2008, the resolution is about 2400 dots per inch (that is, 600 x 2400 dpi) quality but the average resolution is about 600 x 600 dpi. For Mac OS versions X 10.4.11, 10.5.x and 10.6.x, the resolutions are the same as for Windows OS versions while Linux has an average resolution of 600 x 600 dpi.
The printer processor has a speed of about 300 MHz with an internal supporting memory of 32 MB of RAM. The two together enhances the printer’s ability to produce excellent quality and good speed. There is an additional option of a DIMM slot that is expandable to 544 MB. The connectivity option includes s standard hi-speed USB 2.0 and a 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet component. Similarly, the supported network connectivity protocols include the TCP/IP through the Ethernet component.

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.

Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
