Sharp MX-M550 monochrome multifunction digital document machine is an advanced productivity and multitasking machine. It is made perfect with high-quality output and high speed that goes up to 55 pages per minutes for letter sized sheets. This is a network-ready machine with document filing capabilities. It has a 64-bit multi-tasking controller that uses PISC CPU at 600MHz and has a storage memory of 40GB. It has a dual paper feeding tray that holds up to 1000 sheets, a bypass tray that holds 100 sheets and an optional large capacity tray.

The copier has a variable zooming power of 25% to 200% with a document feeder and 25% to 400% in 1% increments. The copier has a standard 128MB of, and it’s upgradable to 384MB of RAM. The multiplexed copier machine warms up in less than 120 seconds and has a copy resolution of 600 x 600 dpi. As an advanced productivity machine, it has a first copy time of 3.5 seconds and can make up to 999 continuous copies.
The network scanner can deliver to a maximum of 999 destinations including e-mail, desktop, internet-fax, FTP and shared folders. The preinstalled utility program is the Sharpdesk desktop document management software and secure FTPS support. Email server authentication, SSL security, user account control and many more are security protocols for the network scanner. IPX/SPX, TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, Ether Talk, and Net BEUI are the available remote connections protocols.
The standard resolution of the printing system is 600 x 600 dpi and 1200 x 600 dpi. It supports all Windows and other Mac OS and uses a standard high-speed USB 2.0 connection port interface. The optional network printer connectivity interface is a 10/100BaseT RJ-45 Ethernet while shared usage is made possible through IPv4, IPv6, IPX/SPX and other network protocols.

Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
