The Canon imagePROGRAF iPF500 printer displays five different colors through its 17 inches size machine. The total number of nozzles is up to 30,720 for MBK (5120), C, M, Y, BK, each with 2560 nozzles. At the same time, the nozzle pitch has a resolution of 1200 dots per inch (dpi) for two rows. It also has a non-firing nozzle detection and compensation component. The main printer resolution itself reaches a level of 2400 x 1200 dpi at maximum performance.

The standard interface options include the standard USB 2.0 hi-speed port and a Firewire IEEE1394 component. It also supports the use of a 10/100Base-T/TX component, but it is optional.
The minimum ink droplet size of the ink nozzle is about four picolitres (pl), while the ink capacity is 130 ml. This size also matches the dye/ pigment reactive ink that the machine uses. [Installation Instructions] How to Download / Installation procedure
Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.
- Click the downloaded file. The files will be extracted and the installation process will automatically begin.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to continue and complete the installation.
Mac
- Download the file. For the location where the file is saved, check the computer settings.
- Double-click the downloaded file and mount it on the Disk Image.
- Then Double-click the mounted Disk Image.
- Double-click the packaged file in the folder. Installation starts automatically.
To install later, select Save in step 4 and choose a location on your hard disk. When ready to install, search and double-click the file. This will automatically extract and start the installation process. Follow the instructions on the screen to continue the installation.
