Printing in black or monochrome mode is approximately 8.8 images per minute (ipm). On the other hand, color printing speed is about 5.0 ipm. However, borderless printing on a 10×15 cm photo size takes approximately 60 seconds. The standard ink cartridge options include GI-590 for pigment black and GI-590 C/M/Y for cyan, magenta, and yellow colors, respectively. With these cartridges, the machine will produce up to 6000 pages of A4 paper documents in black.
However, color printing on A4 paper can produce up to 7000 color pages by estimated yield. Some of the notable paper types that are compatible with this device include plain paper, envelopes, and high-resolution paper. Other examples include photo paper plus glossy II, photo paper pro luster, photo paper plus semi-gloss, and matte photo paper. It can also hold up to 100 sheets of plain papers in its main input tray on the rear side.
The Canon PIXMA G1500 model uses the hi-speed USB 2.0 B port that is compatible with PC and Mac. Also, the compatible OS versions include Windows 10, 8.1, 7, Vista SP2, XP SP3 (32-bit only). Note: Do not connect the USB cable until requested by the installer. If you connect to the network, make sure the network cable is connected before running the installer
Windows
- Close all software programs running on your computer.
- Turn on the printer.
- Click the Download button on this page.

Mac
